About
Red-Winged Blackbirds is a space for writing on art, faith, and nature. This monthly online publication is created by photographer and art historian Camille Wilson, who lives in rural North Yorkshire, England with her husband, her baby daughter, and her Dalmatian named Vincent.
Why the name? Red-winged blackbirds are a common bird in North America, where Camille was born. These petite and elegant blackbirds are known to punch above their weight and protect their young with ferocity — traits she admires. Camille believes deeply in the power of nature to heal and nurture, and the capacity for art and creativity to help us shape new selves and new worlds. Her goal in life is to leave Earth a better place for those who come next, and this publication is one small expression of that desire.
